From 'ordered' to 'at your door': the real timeline

Everyone asks 'how long' like it's one number. It's five stages, and only one of them is the carrier's fault. Here's what's actually happening while you refresh the tracker.

Stage 1 — Purchase and domestic transit

The agent buys your item and it ships from the seller to the warehouse. This is domestic China postage, usually a couple of days, sometimes a week if the seller's slow or the item's pre-order.

Nothing you can speed up here except picking in-stock links. A 'processing' status for days usually means the seller, not the agent, is the bottleneck.

Stage 2 — QC and your call

Warehouse receives, photographs, and waits for your green-light. This can be minutes or days depending on how fast you respond. The clock is in your hands now — slow replies slow the haul.

This is also where a re-shoot adds time. Annoying in the moment, free insurance in the long run. Most delays people blame on shipping actually start here, with a stalled decision.

Stage 3 — Packing and consolidation

You pick a line and the warehouse packs, or consolidates multiple items into one parcel. Consolidation saves freight but adds a packing window — and you choose the declared value here too.

Heavy or many-item hauls take longer to pack well. Rushing this stage is how boxes get crushed or items get missed. Let them do it right; it's the last hands-on moment before the border.

Stage 4 — Line dispatch and flight

The parcel leaves the warehouse on your chosen line and gets on a flight or truck to your region. This is the part with the big 'in transit' gap — it's moving, you just can't see every step.

Line choice matters here more than people admit. A cheap line might sit at the hub a few extra days; a faster one just costs more. Match the line to how urgently you actually need the haul.

Stage 5 — Customs and last mile

Your country's customs may inspect and charge duty — that's the one stage neither you nor the agent controls. A clean declaration and a sane declared value keep this boring.

Then it's local delivery, the part that finally feels normal. Track it like a hawk in this stage; a missed delivery attempt is the easiest way to add a week you didn't budget for.

What actually delays you (and what doesn't)

Real delays: seller pre-orders, a stalled QC decision, customs holds, a missed delivery. Non-delays people panic about: a quiet 'in transit' day, a weekend with no scan. Those are normal, not broken.

The single biggest lever is you — respond to QC fast, pick the line on purpose, be reachable at delivery. Do those and the timeline stops feeling like a mystery.

FAQ

How long does a Kakobuy order take?

Roughly 1–3 weeks end to end: a few days domestic, your QC response time, packing, flight, then customs and local delivery. The carrier owns only the middle slice — most 'delays' are earlier stages.

Why does the tracker go quiet for days?

That's normal between flight and customs, or over a weekend. 'In transit' with no scan just means it's moving in a way the tracker doesn't show. Panic only if it's been silent for over a week with no stage change.

Can I speed it up?

A little: pick in-stock links, respond to QC fast, choose a faster line, and be reachable at delivery. You can't rush the seller, the flight, or customs — those run on their own clocks.
